COVID-19 Restrictive Period
Resident Next-of-Kin Visitor Policy
“Our COVID-19 Restrictive Measures strongly recommend the use of
technology to conduct virtual meetings with Residents. Should a family
member still wish to have a face-to-face visit, then the following Policy
must be strictly adhered to”.
During the COVID-19 period, and for an indefinite period thereafter, all
visits by friends & family to Residents at Belvedere will be strictly
controlled.
Our COVID-19 prevention measures and risk assessments are ongoing, and in
conjunction with guidance from the Department of Health, visitors will be
asked screening questions upon arrival. These include:
- Have you been feeling unwell recently?
- Have you had recent onset of a new continuous cough?
- Do you have a high temperature?

Have you noticed a loss of, or change in, normal sense of taste or
smell?

Have you had recent contact (in the last 14 days) with anyone with
COVID-19 symptoms or someone with confirmed COVID-19?
- Have you returned from Foreign Travel in the last 14 days?
If a Visitor answers ‘YES’ to any of the above, they will
not be permitted to visit the Resident & they will be asked to leave the
premises immediately & follow NHS COVID-19 isolation procedures.
The COVID-19 Visitor Policy (& Procedures)** are as follows:
- Unannounced & ad-hoc visits are prohibited.
- Visits must be pre-booked in advance by telephoning the Home.
- Visit ‘time-slot’s will be on a ‘first come first served basis’.

Visits can only take place on a Wednesday & Saturday between 5:30pm &
7pm.

Due to limited staff resources, each Resident will be allocated one
visit every 10 days.

Visitors must provide their contact details PRIOR to their visit (at
time of booking).

Upon arrival visitors must sign a declaration confirming they have no
COVID-19 symptoms.

Before the visit commences, visitors must sign a declaration confirming
they have read and fully understood this COVID-19 Visitor Policy
(which they will receive prior to the visit).

Visitors must allow their temperature to be taken before the visit
commences
(if a temperature of 37.8 degrees or higher is evident then the visit
will be cancelled & the Visitor asked to leave the premises
immediately & follow NHS COVID-19 guidelines).
- Visit durations are limited to 30 minutes.

A staff member will be in attendance throughout the duration of the
visit.

Visitors must check with the Home on the day prior to their visit, to
ensure the situation in the service has not changed.

If Visitors feel unwell on the day of the visit, then they must not
attend the visit.

Upon arrival, Visitors must ensure a face covering & gloves are worn.

Visitors must follow instructions from staff on where to enter the
building & where to complete hand sanitising. Visitors will then be
shown where to sit in the designated Visitor’s Room.
- Only one person will be allowed on visits.
- Under 16-year olds will not be permitted.

It is encouraged, where practical, that Visitor’s walk to the Home or
use their own transport. Public transport is strongly discouraged.

Visitors will have no physical interaction with Residents or Staff. A
minimum distance of 3m for Residents & 2m for Staff must be maintained
at all times.

Visitors will have no contact with other Residents and minimal contact
with care home Staff. Where needed, conversations with Staff can be
arranged over the phone following the visit.

To catch coughs and sneezes, tissues will be provided. Hands must be
sanitised after coughing or sneezing.

After the visit starts, should a Visitor display symptoms such as
coughing, constant sneezing, flushed appearance etc., the visit will be
terminated immediately and the Visitor asked to leave the premises.

No gifts, flowers or other items are allowed or will be accepted during
the visit.

If a Visitor breaches any of the ‘Policies & Procedures’ stated here,
the visit will be terminated immediately, and the Visitor asked to leave
the premises.
**Should it be necessary, and where advised to do so, this Policy may
revert back to a complete ban on all visits**.
